Waymo said it had started mapping Toronto and was aiming for riders in 2028. Mapping is not a service you can hail. Waymo is the name attached to it.
For a city watching robotaxis arrive as a map before they arrive as a ride, the only useful question is whether the opening sentence changes what you open, buy, or tell someone before the day ends.
Skip the confident rewrite you will see elsewhere. Motives and timelines that were not in the report do not belong in this brief on Waymo Toronto.
I will correct this if a primary source from Waymo contradicts it. A brief on Waymo Toronto can be overtaken. It should not get more certain just because it was reposted.
